25 Days of Baking: Day 1

To say I Love Christmas and the holidays is an understatement! You could almost classify my joy for this time of year as Will Ferrell's elf character Buddy. I'm almost that obsessed. I also love to bake, so when the holidays come I am all about baking up delicious goodies. So this season I have decided to write a 25 Days of Baking Series on my new blog!

I know what some of you are thinking, you didn't keep up with your family blog how will you do this? Right, I know, but I having been thinking about having this blog to share crafts, recipes and whatnot for awhile now and I think I even claimed the domain about 2 years ago :) So I'm going to give it a shot, bare with me while I work out the bumps in the road.

Up first for day 1 is Almond Bark Pretzels and while these don't require many ingredients or even a recipe for that matter, they are always a staple around our house during the holidays! So what better way to kick off this series.

Of course you could always dress these up with sprinkles, because you can really put sprinkles on pretty much anything. I even have a girlfriend who's daughter thought the Thanksgiving turkey should have sprinkles on it. And how can you tell the innocence of a 4 year old that there are a few things that sprinkles don't go on? You can't, so you let them pour on the sprinkles!

In case you have never made almond bark pretzels, my first question would be why not? All you need is a bag or pretzels and some almond bark (it is fantastic that they now make this in individual cubes instead of one lump!). Around Christmas I prefer to get the holiday shape pretzels as it adds some variety to my snacking options. This however is completely optional. I typically start with about half of the almond bark and melt it in the microwave. Follow package directions. Then just dip away and set them on wax paper to harden.

Easy peasy and you now are on your way to having fantastic holiday goodies to share!
